Apple PowerBook and iBook Settlement, up to $181.7 million

Apple Inc agreed to a settlement that will cost the Cupertino-based company between $57.5 and $181.7 million to pay refunds of $25 to $79 to as many as 2.3 million computer owners. Customers who bought certain replacement adapters for PowerBook and iBook computers are eligible for the refund. Read more
Apple Canada iPod Owners Eligible for $3.6 million Settlement

Apple Canada Inc is offering CDN $45 (USD $44.40) credits, usable at the Apple Canada online consumer store, to as many as 80,000 Canadian residents who own a first, second, or third-generation iPods purchased before June 24, 2004. Apple has decided to settle the litigation without admitting any wrongdoing or liability. Read more
Apple Struck with Flash Memory Lawsuit for iPod

Apple has been hit with another lawsuit filed last week in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan on behalf of Henry Milan. Detroit-based law firm, Butzel Long Attorneys and Counselors, alleges Apple knowingly infringed on a patent for a flash memory drive by selling its iPod nano and iPod touch players, among other devices.
