Apple Releases New Version of SDK for iPhone OS 2.2 Firmware

Apple has released an updated version of its iPhone Software Development Kit coinciding with the release of iPhone Software 2.2 for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod touch. Listed as build 9M2621, the updated SDK weighs in at 1.6 GB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.5.
Apple has not publicly stated the details of new SDK improvements for iPhone developers. However, Apple says that the v 2.2 update offers overall system stability and performance improvements. Google Maps and Mail functions have also been enhanced, in the former case with items like Street View that may need special support.
New iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 2.2 (build 9M2621) is available now as a free download for registered developers from the iPhone Dev Center.
