Apple MobileMe Suffers New Outage Early Friday Morning

Early morning Friday, the Me.com domain was inaccessible again. This outage, which lasted from 2:00 am until approximately 4:30 am, largely went unnoticed by MobileMe subscribers. We tracked it down with the help of Montastic, the free website monitoring service.
Earlier this week, the MobileMe users were also met with an error message when they attempted to access the Me.com home page. The error message warned, “Not Found: Resource does not exist.”
At that time, Apple responded by acknowledging that some MobileMe members may have been unable to send MobileMe Mail via the web and that normal service has been quickly restored. The technical glitch only affected the Me.com domain. Macworld reported that “Users were still able to access individual MobileMe services by typing in the URLs directly, such as entering me.com/mail to access their MobileMe inbox; me.com and www.me.com were inaccessible, though.”
Apple hasn’t posted any information about the latest, Friday morning MobileMe outage on its service update page. The company did not respond to our e-mail seeking more information about the outage.
