Apple Files Application for Cocoa Touch Trademark
September 4, 2008
Apple has filed a trademark application for Cocoa Touch - a programmer’s toolset for building software programs to run on the iPhone and iPod touch devices. Cocoa Touch was already included in the iPhone SDK Beta version 2.0. It is based on the Cocoa API toolset for building software programs for Mac computers, and it provides an abstraction layer of the iPhone OS.
Intellectual Property Counsel Lisa G. Widup is noted as the Signatory of this application - filing #77558260.
The trademark application has been filed under three separate classes. The first classification, International Class 009 in the US, covers computer programming, data recovery, and data analysis for others, and research and development of computer hardware and software. The second classification, International Class 038, covers communication and telecommunication services, while the third classification, International Class 042, covers same services as International Class 009.
