August 31, 2008
Net Applications issued, what appears to be, a preliminary report in advance of its August results which are expected to become available Monday, September the 1st. Not surprisingly, the iPhone OS presence on the Internet is growing steadily.
The disclaimer warns that “this report contains preview data that has NOT been reviewed by Quality Assurance.” According to Net Applications, the release of the iPhone 3G has brought large gains in web browsing share. Prior to the launch iPhone usage share had leveled off, but has since resumed its upward trend and peaked 0.48% on August 23.
Net Applications provides reports for operating system, search engine, and browser share on a monthly basis. The data is aggregated from 40,000 websites that are predominantly ecommerce or corporate sites. You can review the latest preliminary Net Applications data for Apple’s iPhone here.
