Steve Jobs Promises MobileMe Updates Every Other Day

According to the latest MobileMe status message, unsigned and posted by an unknown Apple employee, “Steve Jobs has asked me to write a posting every other day or so to let everyone know what’s happening with MobileMe, and I’m working directly with the MobileMe group to ensure that we keep you really up to date.”

At least now we know that Steve Jobs has taken his personal involvement in this ongoing MobileMe mess.

Last Friday, Apple encountered “a serious problem” with one of ther mail servers. According to Apple, approximately 1% of MobileMe accounts has been affected ever since, but that percentage is likely higher according to some estimates. The latest message from Apple amounted to an apology, “In the 14 days since we launched, it’s been a rocky road and we know the pain some people have been suffering… We particularly regret to report the loss in the affected accounts of approximately 10% of the messages received between July 16 and July 18.”

As of today, Apple team has fixed over 70 bugs and they continue to work on the issue by enhancing the performance of all MobileMe apps. Apple expect to be finished with this process by next Friday.
