Instinctiv Shuffle for iPhone and iPod TouchEver thought of transforming your iPod into an intelligent companion that senses what songs you’re in the mood for? Well, now you can. Instinctiv, an Ithaca, N.Y.-based provider of an iPhone application for streamlining music libraries, has raised $750,000 in seed funding from Cayuga Venture Fund and  Rosetech Ventures.

Instinctiv was formed in 2007 by Justin Smithline and Peter Brodsky, who met while attending graduate studies at Cornell University.

We’re  sure our readers are familiar with  iTunes shuffle, and many of us have been using it for years now.  The problem with the shuffle is that users end up spending more time skipping songs than actually enjoying the music. Instinctiv’s mission to make the shuffle “instinctive.” Brodsky is confident the Instinctiv Shuffle is a new way to unleash the power of your iPods’ music library.  Instinctiv Shuffle uses your skip behavior to know exactly what you want to hear.

“Instead of a random shuffle, our ’smart shuffle’ uses some cool machine learning to analyze what music you want to hear based on the songs you skip and the ones you don’t.  Within just a few skips, we can play the songs that fit your current mood and activity. Whether you’re working out, walking in the park or road-tripping with your friends, our new Instinctiv Shuffle will be able to understand what you want to hear within just a few skips,” - explained Brodsky in his E-mail to Palluxo! editors. The company plans to begin raising a Series A round this fall, with a target of around $5 million.

You can download Instinctiv Shuffle application from InstallerApp Sources web site. If your iPhone/ iPod Touch is not jailbroken, then follow simple “how-to” guide from Instinctiv’s website to make sure the process is as simple as possible.
