The Largest Apple Store in the U.S. Opens Today

Thousands of Apple fans and Mac geeks are expected to descend on 815 Boylston Street to witness the grand opening of Apple’s largest store in the US. The opening is scheduled today at 6:00 pm in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay.

At the Boston’s newest Apple store, concierges identified by orange “I know people” T-shirts will guide customers and help them with their personal shopping and training choices. Turquoise shirts will be  worn by specialists reserved for product-use demonstrations and identified by a friendly T-Shirt message  “I could talk about this stuff for hours” emblazoned across their chests.

The Boylston Street store encompasses three floors behind its glass facade. Two floors are dedicated to Macs, iPhones and iPods, while a top-floor is dedicated to the Genius Bar, including Apple’s One to One personal training program.

At the Genius Bar in any Apple Retail Store, customers can get friendly expert advice and hands-on technical support for their Mac, iPod, Apple TV, or iPhone - and best of all, they can test-drive Apple’s entire product line for free. The Genius Bar also offers popular in-store workshops and special programs for kids of all ages. Last quarter Apple retail stores delivered more than 580,000 one-hour personal training sessions through its One to One program. Ron Johnson, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail, said:

The store employs more than 165 tech and sales specialists offering personalized instruction and hands-on experience for customers who want to learn anything and everything about Apple products. Apple now has 210 retail stores across  the US, UK, Japan, Canada and Italy, and nearly 350 million people who have walked through their doors.

Location:The Apple Store Boylston Street is located at 815 Boylston Street - convenient to the Prudential Center and Copley Square, the Berklee School of Music and Fenway Park. It joins eight existing Apple retail stores in Massachusetts including popular stores in Cambridge, Chestnut Hill, Burlington and Hingham.
