Stream iPod Video to Your TV and Tag HD Radio Stations

May 6, 2008

Polk Audio i-Sonic ES2Polk Audio’s I-Sonic Entertainment System 2 (I-Sonic ES2) lets you stream video content from your iPod to your TV! This system accepts all iPod models with an integrated iPod dock on the top and a universal adapter hidden beneath a sliding door.

S-Video and composite video outputs allow you to connect any television or video monitor to the I-Sonic ES2 for viewing video content stored on your iPod.

This system is fully compatible with Apple’s implementation of the HD Radio tagging feature. Whenever you’re listening to HD Radio and hear a song you love, simply hit the “TAG” button on the front of the I-Sonic ES2 to capture the song’s information on your iPod. Then the next time you sync your iPod with your computer you will be able to download tagged songs via the Apple iTunes music store.

More than 1,500 HD Radio stations are beaming 100% digital FM or AM broadcasts, meaning that with you can get CD-quality sound from the FM stations, as well as FM-quality sound from AM stations.

With four specially-designed full range speakers, two on the front and two on the back, the i-Sonic ES2 acoustic system creates a rich stereo sound-stage throughout your entire room. The stereo sound-field is projected all around., no matter where you are in the room.

The sound quality of this system is extraordinary due to Polk Audio’s PowerPort. This is the same technology used in Polk’s legendary $10,000 Signature Reference Theater system. PowerPort reduces air turbulence at the port-mouth thereby reducing distortion and increasing bass output.

One downside is that I-Sonic ES2 can produce a tonal balance that is heavy on the bass. If you experience this problem,  just go to ”Settings,” then select either “Bass” or “Treble” and lower the bass or treble to your level of preference. I-Sonic ES2 retails for $499 and you can get it directly from Polk Audio’s online store.
